Outside the Ball correspondent Vince Spadea isn’t afraid to dig into the blue carpet at the Citi Taste of Tennis event and ask the tennis players delicious questions. Our cameras were rolling as the tennis pros gathered to dance and dine ahead of the US Open. These stars are hungry for more than victory in this behind the scenes exclusive.
Citi Taste of Tennis combines players with award winning chefs at their events in Indian Wells, Miami and New York City. Frenchman Gael Monfils described why the parties are so well received. “It’s a cool party, a cool event. The people are nice and we can eat food!”
With tennis players experiencing food from across the globe, Spadea wanted to know how adventurous their taste buds were. Wimbledon mixed doubles champion Heather Watson revealed that food is her friend. “I eat absolutely anything you can think of!” Next Gen star Alexander Zverev also told Spadea that he wasn’t a picky eater.
